This project has been created to address industry needs for  information relating to water efficiency through  the selection of efficient components and the design of efficient plumbing installations in buildings in South Africa.

The whole project will be executed and funded with the joint participation of the Department of Water Affairs and Forestry, Rand Water, CSIR and others, with participation at certain stages of various property owners and administrators and local authorities.

The core activities of the project include:

a.      Industry best practice in water installations in commercial and residential buildings;

b.      Industry suppliers of water efficient installation components (updated and revised version of the “A-Z of Water Saving Devices”), including collaboration with representatives from SABS, Agrément, JASWIC, IOP, PLASMA, etc.);

c.      Energy and water efficient devices described by other collaborative ventures within South Africa.

This database will form an interactive platform for the various Industry Representatives within the project Steering Group during the execution of the whole project.

2.                   Industry Representative Steering Group
Management of the Industry Representative group, nominated during the Plumbing Forum meeting of 20th February 2001. This includes coordination of sub-groups tasked with specific actions during this preliminary phase of the project.

3.                   Research
